14th TNBC Meeting to Focus on Conducive Business Environment and Economic Growth

The 14th Tanzania National Business Council (TNBC) meeting is set to commence tomorrow at Dar es Salaam State House, with President Samia Suluhu Hassan chairing the session, as announced by TNBC Executive Secretary, Dr. Godwill Wanga, in a press briefing yesterday. Dr. Wanga emphasized the significant progress made under President Samia's leadership, highlighting the growth of trust and confidence among sectors, as well as the steady increase in business and investments over the past two years. The theme for this year's meeting is "Conducive Business Environment for Inclusive and Resilient Economy." Dr. Wanga stressed the necessity of Public-Private Dialogue (PPD) to sustain Tanzania's inclusive and resilient middle-income economy. While not revealing all the agenda items, Dr. Wanga mentioned that an important focus will be an extensive review of the implementation of the Blueprint for Regulatory Reforms. This blueprint aims to enhance the business environment in Tanzania's economy. During the 13th TNBC meeting last year, the implementation of the Blueprint Action Plan (BAP) was received and discussed. The plan, presented by the government through the Ministry of Industry and Trade, will be a key point of discussion at the 14th TNBC meeting. Dr. Wanga stated that the meeting will assess the government's collaboration with the private sector in strengthening the inclusive and resilient national economy. Additionally, the meeting will address the implementation of resolutions made during the previous TNBC gathering. Comprising 50 members, TNBC includes 25 delegates from the private sector and an equal number from the public sector. Leaders of Private Sector Organizations (PSOs), ministers, permanent secretaries, regional commissioners, and heads of public institutions will also be in attendance at the TNBC meeting. Recognized as a crucial platform for public-private dialogues (PPDs), TNBC plays a vital role in stimulating business and investments for economic growth. Through TNBC, Tanzania has established a solid foundation to sustain an inclusive economy, promote peace, unity, and foster development.
