Kairuki Hospital Breaks New Ground with State-of-the-Art Non-Surgical Tumor Treatment

Kairuki Hospital in Mikocheni, Dar es Salaam, has achieved a groundbreaking milestone by introducing non-surgical treatment for various tumors using High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) technology. This significant leap positions the hospital as a pioneer in providing advanced medical care, particularly for women facing reproductive challenges due to tumors.

The hospital's strategic efforts to equip itself with cutting-edge medical technology align with a broader initiative to elevate Tanzania's healthcare landscape. By acquiring the HIFU device, Kairuki Hospital is now at the forefront of offering specialized treatments, eliminating the necessity for patients to seek such services abroad.

The HIFU device, operational since January this year, is described as a game-changer by Dr. Fredy Rutachunzibwa, the operator of the device. It effectively treats tumors in various areas, including the uterus, kidneys, pancreas, liver, bones, breasts, and any visible tumors on the device.

Dr. Rutachunzibwa highlighted the advantages of this cutting-edge treatment, emphasizing minimal pain for patients, rapid recovery, no blood loss, and the avoidance of surgical scars. The hospital's commitment to providing advanced treatments without surgery surpasses traditional methods, marking a significant stride in the healthcare sector.

The Hospital's CEO, Dr. Asser Mchomvu, underscored Kairuki Hospital's dedication to advancing medical care in Tanzania. He stated that the acquisition of the HIFU device positions the hospital as a leading institution not only in the country but also in Africa. Dr. Mchomvu emphasized the hospital's investment in training specialists, with two experts having successfully mastered the operation of the device after receiving training abroad.

"The HIFU device at Kairuki Hospital is the fourth in Africa, and it reflects our commitment to providing state-of-the-art medical solutions. Our specialized team, the HIFU Clinic, comprising highly skilled professionals, is ready to administer treatments using this groundbreaking technology," said Dr. Mchomvu.

This innovative step by Kairuki Hospital signifies a significant leap forward in Tanzania's medical landscape, establishing the hospital as a hub for advanced and non-surgical treatments, ultimately benefiting patients not only in the country but also across the African continent.
