Dar es Salaam, Tanzania - The Poultry Association of Tanzania is gearing up to host its highly anticipated two-day Poultry Show, a yearly event that highlights the best of Tanzania's poultry sub-sector. This year's exhibition, themed "Chicken & Eggs: The Leading Protein," is set to take place at Mlimani City in Dar es Salaam on October 13th and 14th, 2023. The event will be inaugurated by the Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Mr. Abdallah Ulega.
Sufian Zuberi, the show's coordinator, revealed that preparations are in full swing, with 40 exhibitors registered from around the world, including countries such as South Africa, the Netherlands, China, and various East African nations. The exhibition offers attendees an opportunity for face-to-face interactions with suppliers and experts in the poultry value chain. Zuberi also announced that the event would feature seminars covering a range of topics related to poultry farming. He enthusiastically emphasized that the Tanzania Poultry Show is open to everyone, with free entry for all visitors.
The 2023 edition of the show has garnered significant sponsorship, notably from Premium Ingredients Ltd, whose gracious support has made the event possible. Other sponsors include Thrishool Exim, the US Grains Council, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Tanzania Meat Board, and the Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC).
Tanzania's poultry sector plays a crucial role in the country's economy, providing 18 percent of the nation's protein. Additionally, it serves as a vital source of income for approximately 4 million households. With a focus on innovation, global collaboration, and knowledge exchange, the upcoming Poultry Show is poised to showcase the latest advancements in poultry farming and contribute to the growth and sustainability of Tanzania's poultry industry.
