Tanzania's investment landscape has reached a transformative juncture with the launch of the Tanzania Investment Electronic Investment Window (TeIW) on Monday, September 25th, 2023 as a groundbreaking digital platform, signaling a significant shift in how investors interact with government institutions in the country.
During her recent address, President Samia emphasized the government's commitment to streamlining service delivery systems and eliminating bureaucratic hurdles that have hindered investment processes. and the launch represents a pivotal step in realizing this vision.
The TeIW system boasts an intricate integration architecture that seamlessly connects various government bodies responsible for issuing permits and licenses to investors. Key stakeholders include the Business Registration and Licensing Agency (BRELLA), the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC), and the Labor Commissioner for work permits. This digital platform also extends its reach to immigration services for work permits.
A remarkable aspect of this initiative is the close collaboration between these institutions with the National Identification Agency (NIDA) and the Ministry of Land. This collaboration will significantly expedite land-related approvals for foreign investors. Importantly, the TeIW ensures that once an investor's information is entered into any government system, it becomes readily accessible to all relevant government bodies, eliminating the redundancy of information submission.
