TARURA Receives TZS 30 Billion For Emergency Funds


Deputy Minister in the Office of the President-TAMISEMI, Hon. Deogratius Ndejembi, has announced that the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has approved the release of emergency funds amounting to 30 billion Tanzanian Shillings for TARURA (Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency).


Hon. Ndejembi made this statement during visits to the Masasi District in Mtwara and the Ruangwa District in Lindi, accompanied by the Minister of Works, Hon. Innocent Bashungwa, to assess the impact of ongoing rainfall on the country's infrastructure.

During the tour, Hon. Ndejembi directed Regional Managers of TARURA nationwide to assess the damage to infrastructure in their respective areas promptly. He emphasized the need for swift action in initiating repairs to alleviate the challenges faced by citizens due to damaged infrastructure.


"I extend my condolences to the residents of these areas affected by the challenges brought about by the rains damaging the infrastructure. However, I assure you that President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan has already approved 30 billion Tanzanian Shillings for emergency repairs to all TARURA roads nationwide," stated Hon. Ndejembi.


He urged all regional managers to conduct assessments of the damage in their areas swiftly and take immediate steps to address these challenges. This is to ensure that our citizens can resume their daily activities without further disruption," added Hon. Ndejembi.
