TATO Takes Center Stage at ITB Berlin 2024 to Showcase Tanzania's Tourism Marvels

The Tanzania Association of Tour Operators (TATO), a pivotal player in Tanzania's thriving tourism sector, has embarked on a high-profile mission at ITB Berlin 2024, the world's premier travel show. With a delegation of 20 co-exhibitors, TATO aims to spotlight the nation's rich cultural and wildlife heritage, marking a significant presence at this renowned travel trade event.

The exhibition, situated in Hall 21, Stand 109, promises to be an energetic hub where TATO and its members, including prominent tour operators, will showcase the diverse and captivating tourism offerings of Tanzania. The primary objective is not only to promote Tanzania as a premier travel destination but also to forge meaningful collaborations with industry professionals.

Mr. Sirili Akko, the CEO of TATO, expressed excitement about representing Tanzania at ITB Berlin 2024, stating, "Our goal is to engage with fellow travel enthusiasts and industry stakeholders, cultivating collaborations that benefit our members and the tourism industry at large."

TATO's presence at ITB Berlin 2024 goes beyond exhibition stands, with a dedicated focus on promoting Tanzania to travel trade professionals through Familiarisation (FAM) trips. Mrs. Vesna Glamocanin Tibaijuka, TATO Board member, highlighted the initiative, stating, "We aim to empower travel trade professionals with the knowledge and experience needed to effectively promote Tanzania as a top-tier travel destination. Through our FAM trips, participants will gain a deeper understanding of Tanzania's attractions and forge invaluable connections with local operators."

Visitors and business professionals attending ITB Berlin are encouraged to visit the TATO stand to explore potential partnerships and gain deeper insights into Tanzania's tourism offerings.

Tanzania's tourism industry has witnessed substantial growth, with tourist arrivals reaching a record-breaking 1,808,205 in 2023, marking a 24.3% increase from the previous year. Tourism receipts also reached a record high of USD 3.4 billion in 2023, reflecting the country's resilience post-Covid-19 and the concerted efforts of the Tanzanian government and TATO in promoting tourism attractions domestically and internationally.
