Vodacom Tanzania Teams Up with Gas Fasta to Simplify Access to Cooking Gas

Dar es Salaam-In a bid to promote the use of environmentally friendly cooking energy, Vodacom Tanzania has partnered with Gas Fasta to facilitate easy access to cooking gas for customers. This collaboration will allow Vodacom customers to have gas cylinders delivered by Gas Fasta after making payments through the M-Pesa Super App, providing a seamless and digital solution to meet their energy needs.

Mr. Patrobas Katambi, Deputy Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office (Labour, Youth, Employment, and Persons with Disability), praised the partnership, highlighting the convenience and affordability it offers to Tanzanians. He emphasized that such initiatives align with the government's efforts to encourage the use of cooking gas, contributing to public health and the overall economy.

“This initiative will not only benefit your customers but also all Tanzanians in general because they all prefer the convenience, agility, and affordability of accessing services and products in line with their daily lives,” said Mr. Katambi.

Mr. Epimack Mbeteni, Director of Vodacom M-Pesa, expressed his enthusiasm, stating that this collaboration is a step towards making the M-Pesa application an integral part of Tanzanians’ daily lives. He emphasized the importance of simplifying digital transactions for customers and igniting a digital economic revolution in the country.

As part of the introductory offer, customers making gas purchases through the M-Pesa application will receive an instant refund of up to 10,000 Tanzanian shillings during the first 30 days. Gas Fasta, an on-demand cooking gas distribution service platform, aims to address the inconvenience and time wastage experienced by Tanzanians when they run out of gas, especially during cooking.

Gas Fasta boasts a network of over 20,000 registered gas vendors and delivers various brands of LPG available in the country, including Oryx Gas, Taifa Gas, Mihan Gas, O Gas, Cam Gas, Alpha Gas, Manjis Gas, and more. Users can conveniently purchase gas online from any cooking gas distributor and have it delivered promptly.

The partnership between Vodacom Tanzania and Gas Fasta exemplifies the ongoing digital transformation in Tanzania, making essential services more accessible to the population and supporting the adoption of eco-friendly energy alternatives.
